Peony season is in full bloom again!

We spoke with Gert-Jan, our buyer and Peony specialist at Holex Flower.

“As a buyer at Holex Flower, I’m always busy with Peonies, and this year the season looks very promising. We’re now in week 20, and thanks to the dry winter, this year’s Peonies are of top quality. Especially the outdoor crops in the Netherlands and France are producing beautiful, firm flowers with strong stems, exactly what we need for a successful season.

In early spring, Peonies are often grown in greenhouses or tunnels to encourage early blooming. But once temperatures rise, outdoor cultivation begins. This growing method, starting indoors and moving outdoors, helps us offer Peonies for as long as possible.

The weather always remains an unpredictable but crucial factor. In 2024, the season ended early due to hailstorms. Fortunately, this year is looking much better, and I expect an excellent Peony season with high-quality flowers.
