Symbolism
Lilies are often associated with purity, love, and femininity. White lilies are particularly associated with purity and femininity, the nickname of the white Asiatic Lily is for a good reason Madonna Lily. Certainly in Christianity, this is a reference to the virginity and purity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Still, nowadays white Lilies are often used at weddings. In Victorian days receiving a sweet-scented Lily meant ‘this is my beloved one’.
When is Lily in season?
